We founded Orion Energy Advisors on a simple observation: the best advice in energy comes from people who have developed, financed and operated the assets themselves.
Who we are
We are industry operators first. Our team came up inside the energy industry and went on to lead, finance and acquire energy assets and companies in our own right before founding the firm in 2021. Engineers who understand cash flows; financiers who understand plant; commercial specialists who have negotiated the contracts they now advise on.
Most advisory firms offer one of those perspectives. The questions that matter — should we invest, how should we structure it, what is it really worth, can it actually be built — demand all three at once. That intersection is where we work, across two practices: Oil & Gas and Power & Utilities.
Our approach
Orion delivers hands-on implementation alongside strategic guidance, combining engineering, financial advisory and project development expertise to drive outcomes.
Engagements are scoped, led and delivered by senior practitioners who have personally closed multi-billion-dollar transactions. We stay deliberately small so that never changes.
We build the model, sit in the negotiation and stay through execution. Our recommendations are ones we are prepared to help implement.
We sell no products, take no positions and carry no conflicts. Clients get our honest view, even when it is not the easy one.

We advise majors, independents and national oil companies; utilities and power developers; private equity funds, investors and lenders testing assets and projects before committing; and large energy consumers and public-sector institutions navigating a changing system.
Engagements range from focused expert reviews measured in weeks to multi-year development support, sized to the question rather than to a standard product.
